Trauma-Informed Housing

Trauma-Informed Housing

A toolkit for advancing equity and economic opportunity in affordable housing

POAH Logo

The US affordable housing system often forces housing providers to prioritize regulatory compliance over the wellbeing of residents. POAH created this toolkit to inspire mission-driven organizations to adopt a trauma-informed approach to housing.

The toolkit includes over 30 downloadable resources that organizations can use to implement the principles of trauma-informed care within their properties, as well as a wealth of educational and informational content. The Report Kitchen platform makes it easy for visitors to read and engage with the informational content, and when they're ready to take the next step, to download the resources appropriate for their situation.

Preview & Download in context...

Throughout the narrative portion of the toolkit, whenever downloadable materials are referenced, readers can preview or download the relevant documents.  These appear as links within the text, or graphic buttons at the end of a section.

An easy-to-use admin interface facilitates uploading revised or updated documents, and updates all references to a document in one step.

...or all at once

Readers interested in implementing the trauma-informed practices explained in the toolkit will need multiple downloadable resources, and Report Kitchen makes it easy to view all available documents and select the appropriate materials to download.  The selected documents are combined into a single .zip file and downloaded on demand.

At this point readers also have the option to provide an email address to stay connected to the organization. Admins have access to reports showing the number of times each document was downloaded, which sets of documents are often downloaded together, and other insights into how people are using the toolkit.

Does your organization produce toolkits, resource guides, handbooks or similar publications?

How much more engaging and effective would they be if visitors could truly interact with your content instead of just downloading PDFs?
